Affiliate Marketers and Affiliate Marketing Companies are Gearing up for Black Friday

The holidays are right around the corner if you can believe it.  With that said, retailers are preparing for another Black Friday.  While the big name stores are getting ready for the onslaught of consumers both in the store on Black Friday and online on Cyber Monday, they aren’t the only ones getting ready for the holiday season.

Companies like MGECOM and Experience Advertising, just to name a few, are also gearing up this holiday season as many online merchants have decided to hire companies like them for affiliate program management.  There are many risks associated with affiliate marketing campaigns, which is why it may make good business sense to hire an affiliate marketing management company to help with your campaigns and offers.

If you are not a large merchant with a seemingly endless budget, that doesn’t mean that you aren’t taking risks with your affiliate program.  The FTC has very strict guidelines governing the behavior of affiliate marketers.  It is possible that your company may be responsible for the behavior of individual publishers.  The near anonymity that some publishers enjoy creates a sense of security.  This sense of security allows some publishers to feel as though they can promote and advertise however they wish, even if that means bending the rules.  It is important now more than ever to have contracts and policies in place with your publishers that they must acknowledge and accept prior to engagement.  It is important to become familiar with the new FTC guidelines governing advertising so that you may recognize affiliate misconduct and take appropriate measures to address it when necessary.

    Affiliate marketing is attractive because it seems like a cheap and easy way to make money. You don’t have to worry about managing an inventory or shipping products to customers. But, just as in any money making venture, there is hard work to be done if you want to be successful at it. There are many differences between affiliate programs. The products, of course, are often a huge difference, but flexibility can also vary a great deal.^
